Experience:
After seven years practicing on one of
the four largest law firms in the country,
Paulo Maurício Siqueira, acquired
a large experience counseling large corporate
clients in tax matters. He represented
clients before all courts and administrative
bodies, specially Higher Courts and the
Ministry of Finance Taxpayers Council.
He has acquired a large experience in
tax counseling for national and foreign
companies, especially in tax planning.
Paulo Maurício Siqueira has a substantial
experience advising companies on the electricity
sector. At the beginning of the decade,
he actively participated, on behalf of
clients, of the Federal Government Emergency
Energy Program, and has a large experience
of representation before the Mines and
Energy Ministry and Electricity Agency
– ANEEL. He also represented major
telecommunication carriers in mass litigations.
From 2004 to 2005, Paulo Maurício
Siqueira served as advisor of the Presidency
and the Engineering Directory of the Development
Company of the São Francisco and
Parnaíba River’s Valley –
CODEVASF. At CODEVASF he joined the work
group which developed the first public
and private partnerships (PPP) in Brazil
and was appointed to the government task
force that drafted the new National Irrigation
Policy bill.
Paulo Maurício Siqueira also have
some experience counseling clients during
public procurement processes, representing
them before the Court of Auditors, as
well as before federal environment agencies,
especially in license acquisition procedures.
Academically, Paulo Maurício Siqueira
is professor of Civil Procedural Law,
Tax Law and Constitutional Law at the
Brasília campus of UNIP.
